Locked!

So this week, I went to the grocery store to get our weekly groceries. Well when I got home, I brought all the groceries to our apartment door where I discovered that I had left my keys in the car. which was locked. And I don't have a spare key anywhere. So I left all the groceries sitting outside and walked to campus to get my husbands key to the apartment.

Luckily I had the next day off work, so I did not need to drive anywhere. While the husband was at school, I spent a good hour watching youtube videos of how to break into your car with a wire hanger. We tried it and were miserable at it. We don't have the money to call a locksmith, so we called a few friends to see if they knew how to break into a car. none of them did.

Thank you Provo for turning out a whole slew of goodie-goodie return missionary boys who don't know how to break into a car. We are surrounded by boys of the perfect age group who should have done this as kids. but anyway.

So we decided to give it another go ourselves. I wish I had a picture of the contraption that we used, but my camera seems to have decided to stop working on me. This time around, at the end of the wire hanger, we wrapped a circle of craft wire. We looped the wire around the handle on the inside of the car and pulled on it, opening the door. yay.

What are your experiences with locking your keys in the car?
