Date #'s 4 and 5

I didn't blog about April's date because we just went out to a romantic dinner at the Olive Garden, thanks to a gift card from my granny we got at Christmastime, so there is not much to blog about there anyway, except that it was great food and great company.

May was 5 golden rings. I changed it to the 5 olympic rings and we had to compete in different tasks.

The first task was to throw marshmallows into a bucket through a wreath. We used this one I made back in  the fall.

We actually tied on this activity

For the second one we had to use vaseline on our noses to transfer cotton balls from a plate on one side of the room to a  plate on the other side of the room.

I don't have pictures of this one in action because we looked like dorks.
I won.

For our third challenge, we had to use a spaghetti noodle that we held between our teeth. no hands allowed. We had to string 5 penne pasta onto the noodle.

 Alex won this one.

For our fourth challenge, we had to build a bow and arrow or crossbow out of the supplied materials and see who could shoot down all their targets first.

This is what our crossbows looked like.

and our targets were folded pieces of paper.
Alex won this one too.

Our fifth and last challenge was to paint a skyscraper with cooked spaghetti noodles.

 This one was mine.

This was  Alex's. He won this one as well, and therefore won our olympics!

Chocolate Lovers Dream Cake

Yesterday was my sisters birthday and I whipped up this scrumptious cake for her. Here is the recipe:

Cake:
1 package chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup chocolate milk
1/3 cup butter
3 eggs
1 16 oz. container of sour cream
1 (4 serving package) chocolate fudge pudding mix
2 cups chocolate chips

Glaze:
3/4 cup chocolate chips
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. corn syrup
1 1/2 tsp. water

Heat oven to 350 degrees
Spray bundt pan and lightly grease with flour

For the cake, mix all ingredients except chocolate chips until well blended. Add chocolate chips. Spoon into pan.

Bake for 55-65 min. Cool in pan 10 min, then turn upside down on serving plate. cool for 2 hours

For glaze, heat all ingredients in small saucepan on low heat until melted. Drizzle over cake.

Serve with ice cream!
